I have been using felt pads cut to shape on my left inner ankle and around the left fallen arch for some years as protection against chaffing while wearing ankle braces. I am active and still working part time, gardening, relief milking, walking 2 miles or more daily. On my feet a lot of the time. After a half day my ankle and foot become sore and painful despite the use of skin cream/ moisturiser. I recently had a podiatry appointment where I was advised to try silipos discs though these are not supplied through NHS. I have been wearing a pad over each area now daily, all day, for a week with no ill effect at all. I hardly notice that I'm wearing a cushion at all, MARVELLOUS, worth every penny!
