It does give a lovely padding under the ball of the foot thereby easing soreness. A downside; after a time it starts to "stretch" and slip further down the foot which can make for discomfort between the big toe and the next. Also that then makes the top edge of the pad sit right under the sore point of the ball of the foot. I do find it difficult to put some shoes on over the strap, perhaps it could be made thinner on the top piece.
