Hydrogel
HYDROGEL natural silicone products are odourless, hypoallergenic and will not support bacterial growth. They can be washed and reused and will maintain their form to provide long lasting protection against impact, pressure and rubbing.
Natural silicone offers advantages that cannot be matched by synthetic products:
- Natural silicone won't age from ultraviolet light, ozone or humidity- polyurethane turns yellow in sunlight (UVA) and grey when washed.
- Natural silicone is flame resistant - polyurethane supports combustion and releases toxic gases.
- Natural silicone is environmentally friendly - polyurethane chemicals don't break down and dissipate.
- Natural silicone is chemically inert, resistant to both acid and alkalis - polyurethane is reactive.
- Natural silicone 'breathes', it is permeable to water and air - polyurethane does not breathe and actually forms a barrier.
- Natural silicone is stable between -40°C and 200°C (-40°F and 392°F) - polyurethane forms can be affected by temperature fluctuations.
